Going back to the Geovivències project, during these last few weeks we have started working with two new groups of students in 10th grade, whom we will create reflection videos around different topics related to the subject of Culture, values and the knowledge of the problems of their surroundings. We have carried out two script and three filming sessions.
The methodology for the script sessions was based on different dynamics with which we want to promote the emergence of concerns, sharing their ideas and listening to their classmates’. We prioritize communication, and we encourage self-expression.
We started from presenting three core subjects that they have already worked with their teacher, so that they decide together about what subject they want to go in depth, and what they would like to know and say.
We did a dynamic of brainstorming, so that each teen could express themselves, and after listening to the proposals, in small groups they decided the subject of each audiovisual piece. In total, they are making three.
To sum up what they were interested in and how to do this, we did a dynamic of working in groups, so that all voices and ideas could be reflected in the final script. First we divided the class in pairs, so that each teen could explain to their partner his/her idea or to think together in ideas to finish the script.
To one pair, two more students (who had done the same work of consensus) joint. The four of them thought of a proposal together, based on all shared ideas. To wrap up, each group exposed their proposals, and the script was created collaboratively, based on the two final proposals.

We define ourselves through this type of
dynamics because we think it is fundamental that all voices are heard, and that each student can express their ideas. This way the students can make the final script their own, and they can understand that, by thinking about it and creating it from their own point of view, this ends up becoming a quite flexible tool, that allows change and experimentation. Therefore, they are aware that they can modify it, if necessary, as research on the topic chosen progresses.
